Philosophy:

Home Away From Home Daycare attempts to create a stimulating environment as to meet the needs of each child so they may grow to the fullest capacity to which they are capable of achieving. It is my belief that Children are a gift from God and aught to be treated as such. Each child will be given the attention he/she needs and deserves.

Program Development:

I will seek to nurture your child's learning in the areas of numbers, letters, reading readiness skills, small motor and large motor activities, puzzles, games, songs, stories and creative experiences.

Nutrition:

A nutritious midday, morning and afternoon snack will be provided. Children with special dietary needs and allergies will need to bring their own food and snacks.

Arrival and pick-up:

Young children depend on regular routines for their own sense of security. We recommend that you establish fixed hours to pick-up and drop-off your child. Unless otherwise arranged children will not be released to anyone other than those specified by the parent/guardian.

Ages of Children:

I offer services for children 15 months up to 5 years old. Spaces are limited for children 15 to 18 months of age.

Hours of Operation:

Monday-Friday 8pm-6pm. After school care is possible but pick up from school must be done by someone other then myself. I will provide care if you need a few hours to run errands, but I must be given 3 days notice before hand. occasional Saturdays are okay if asked in advance, but Sunday I will not be open.

Holiday/Sick Leave:

Home Away From Home Daycare observes the following statutory holidays: New Year's Day, Good Friday, Victoria Day, Civic Holiday, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas day, and Boxing Day. Please make sure to recognize these closure dates on your calendar. After a child has been in attendance for six months he/she is entitled to one-week holiday, where payment fee is not required for days child would regularly attend. There are no refunds for additional days missed. If a statutory holiday falls on a day that your child is normally in attendance, full payment is required.

Absence:

When a child is absent for any reason, the parent/guardian must notify the daycare by 9:00 am, and a full days pay is required. If the child is absent from the daycare for more than 5 days without notice, the child will be withdrawn from the daycare.
